We are getting married in a historic building so I created table cards that look like an antique candle screen. All the materials came from local craft store, very inexpensive to make. Using unpainted wood base, dowel, dowel cap and picture frame. There is a magnet behind the picture frame that is covered by decorative paper and a smaller magnet on the dowel. The graphics were printed and glued to the top of the pic frame .

Everything was purchased at AC Moore.
The dowels, stands and wooden frames without glass, wooden finials.
It helps to make a pattern of the base where the hole needs to go. Then using a small drill it’s real simple to put the pattern over the base and drill a small hole. The pattern was made out of scrap cardboard from recycling…….do not drill through the base…..a small dot of clear glue and the dowel is in place.
I also found a bag of wooden balls with a hole predrilled. I made sure I purchased the dowel that woudl fit that hole and used the balls to finish off the dowel. Again a small dot of glue to hold in place…….I assembled the stands and spray painted them.
It took me a little over an hour to assemble and paint 10 stands and it cost under $10.00. Remember to use coupons for supplies…..I had one that applied a discount to the entire order.
