These acted as a 2-in-1 DYI. These candles were used as seat numbers and the favor gift. I bought the coconuts online from the Coconut King which were already cut in half and sanded flat on the bottom. The wax used was medium melt wax which I bought from a local candle making factory, they also supplied the wicks and wick stand. I bought approximately 10 lbs of wax to make about 100 candles.
The process was simple enough
To make the candles you will need a deep pot filled half way with water, a tin can, baking sheets covered with parchment paper, hammer and chisel, and an old oven mit. Use hammer and chisel to chop the wax into meltable pieces. Melt the wax in the tin can which was placed in the pot on low to medium heat. Let the wax melt down. While the wax is melting, cut wicks into desired length and attach to wick stand. Place the coconuts on the baking sheet. When pouring wax use oven mit. Drip a small drop of melted wax on the bottom of the coconut and place wick on the bottom. Fill the coconut about half way up. Let stand for a few hours.
Not shown is the seat numbers were drawn on the flat bottom with glitter and glitter glue.
