- Wedding: August 2010
I had the worst time looking for wedding shoes! The ones bridal stores carry are $250-$500 and kind of intense looking, and all the ones at Nordstrom’s, Bloomingdale’s, and Macy’s were very uncomfortable. I finally ventured to one of those shoe warehouses (off broadway) and found a beautiful, comfortable, champagne shoe. It’s a little darker than i was hoping, but my wedding colors include gold so it still works! I would totally do these for my maid of honor but she is 6 feet tall and does not want to wear heals, I am however doing a pair for my mother.
Anyhow, went to bohemian crystal in downtown Los Angeles and got one unit of smoked topaz crystals, a tube of E6000 glue, and a toothpick with wax on one end so I could dab the glue with the toothpick, and then use the wax to get the crystal to stick crystal side up and then drop it off on the glue dot. Make sense? I used a crystal (I forgot the name) that is cheaper than the swarovski, but honestly just as beautiful. I wouldn’t know the difference. Here they are. Shoes were $34, and crystals (enough for a pair and a half) and supplies were $40. Not bad!
