- Wedding: June 2014
The fiance and I decided that we are going to go with a book theme for our wedding. We both love to read and just love the idea of being able to incorporate not only one of our favorite hobbies into our wedding, but some of the stories that we have read as well.
So, I have been trying to come up with an invitation that fit the wedding. At first I was invisioning a tree on the invite, and then there was the theme to consider. I finally came up with this idea and I’m pretty excited about it. I realize there is no border around the image, but you get the idea 😛
The wording on the invite is just something I came up with on the fly since I was just trying to come up with the design, but I think it is cute and contributes to the book theme. I also may or may not change the fonts…I am addicted to fonts. There are so many fun options.
This will be printed on cardstock and mounted inside a pocketfold made of blue cardstock, and then a paper belly band will go around the outside with some kind of seal or monogram on it…kind of like this
We are also going to be making our rsvps into postcards.
I used Inkskape to create the design on the invitation. It was really easy and free.
Here is a link for an Inkscape tutorial that was posted by one of the other bees. http://diy.weddingbee.com/topic/inkscape-101-for-the-non-grahic-design-bride-diying-her-invitations#axzz2QPHErdGZ
But if you have any questions on how to do something on Inkscape Google can also help you out.
I can’t wait to get the whole process underway. I will definitely post a picture of the finished invites. Anyways, just thought I would share.
Thanks for checking my invites out!
