- Wedding: September 2013
I made these boxes to ask my bridesmaids to be in my wedding. They all loved them!! I made them the colors of my wedding-purple and silver. I bought pretty much everything I used at Michaels. I am usually not very crafty so I thought they turned out pretty good!
I painted the boxes, inside and out. Then, I got a wood burner from Michaels and burned their names into the top of the boxes. It was my first time woodburning and it was a bit challenging. I would definitely recommend practicing first. I painted over the woodburned names in purple (which hid some of the mistakes 😉
I lined the inside of the boxes with purple paper on the lid and damask paper on the bottom. I used glittery stick-on letters–I made sure they wouldn’t fall off by reinforcing them with glue.
Inside the boxes I put color swatches (frome Lowe’s paint section), example pictures of dresses and weddings I liked, and some cards with information about the wedding, attire, roles, etc.
