Immediately after I got engaged, I started planning… because that’s just who I am. 🙂 I searched tons and tons of sites for inspiration, and found soooo many great Bridesmaid Gift ideas! And, of course, I decided to do almost ALL of them!
I bought the gift bags from Target and added the scrapbook paper to embellish and personalize the bags to each girl. I found this great vellum paper at Hobby Lobby with different patterns which worked out perfectly! This way, each girl could have her own pattern, but they all still tied together.
The first task I conquered was the personalized hangers… those can be a royal pain in the butt, but I’m really happy with the way they turned out! I used 14 guage wire from Michael’s and bought the hangers as a six pack from Ross. The only thing I’m a little bummed about is that the hangers don’t have the notches on the tops, but that’s okay. Total, I paid about $20 for all four hangers. That’s beats the heck out of $25 per hanger!
I also did the embellished flip flops for each girl (I got my inspiration from SeattleKimmy http://diy.weddingbee.com/topic/diy-flip-flops-for-my-bridesmaids). I bought some good ole fashioned Old Navy flip flops and wrapped them with the purple ribbon. After that I added the rhinestones for a little added bling. I let the girls pick out what shoes they wanted for the wedding, so they picked out these really cute strappy heels from DB. Turns out, they’re not particularly comfortable, so I figure having some back-up shoes will be nice.
I got each girl a grey robe from Target. I decided not to personalize that… I saw some really cute pictures of girls in their robes with the word “bridesmaid” on them, but who really wants to keep and use a robe that says bridesmaid on it? So, I got all my ladies grey robes and I have a white one to wear while we get ready. My wedding is in June, so I got the lightest material I could find. Target has some great deals, so I think I only paid $13 for each robe (they were on sale).
I got each girl a personalized necklace from etsy (https://www.etsy.com/transaction/81162429). It has their first initial with an amethyst charm and a small pearl charm. I also added in pearl earrings. This is all in the brown box with white ribbon.
The last thing I did was assemble a small bridesmaid survival kit. I got the black cosmetic bag from Target on their dollar aisle. I made the purple satin flower and sewed it on. I stuffed the bag with mints and a small perfume from Victoria’s Secret. I also added a nail file, lint roller, chap stick, deodorant, wisps, oil blotting sheets, and an eyemask from Target. And, I threw in a hand sanitizer from Bath and Body Works.
I’m also making personalized thank you cards to match each girls bag. I’ll probably throw in a cutesy poem for the survival kit too.
