- Wedding: August 2014
After being inspired by many other bees i decided to make asking my bridesmaids a little bit more special then just asking them. SO i decided to propose to them.
First i started with a trip to hobby lobby and joanns and purchased a few items
Cupcake boxes- 3 pack for $2.99 from hobby lobby
purple cardstock, orange cardstock, and 1 piece of damask paper from joanns. $.25 each
purple bows- joanns $1.99
i also went to walmart and picked up 5 ring pops for $.50 each.
A few other things i already had are glue dots, paper cutter, corner cutters and a sharpie
I started with putting the boxes together. the top of the bozes have a clear window to see a cupakce in, if there was going to be a cupcake. Since i wasnt making cupcakes i needed to cover the clear window. hobby lobby didnt have 2 packages of the same cupcake boxes so you will see 2 different boxes.
I then eyeballed the size i would need for the boxes and cut paper accordingly.
I used the glue dots to attach the papers to the boxes. I then cut a different paper a little bit smaller than the first one and again used glue dots to place it on top.
on the last piece of paper i used my hole punch and made the corners pretty then used the glue dots to place this on top of the other two that are already in place. I wanted to add alittle bit extra and used purple bows i had from a previous project and placed them top center
Almost done… i needed to put the names on them so i wouldnt mess up and give the wrong girl the wrong box.
As You can see by this point i needed a drink haha. The hardest part was making the orange pieces of paper with the corners because the corner cutter was almost impossible to use, i ended up with 10 bad ones before i got 5 good ones! But i think they turned out great.
The last step was placing a note inside and then giving them to the girls! they loved them and it was a very easy project. If the corner cutter worked easier it would have taken me half the time!
this was my first diy and i cant wait until i can start working on others!
