I never even thought of doing this, but I love it!!! I dunno if you would want to, but I might add a small sewing kit (like a travel size one) to add just on the off chance something needs to be stitched? But seriously, great idea!

Love it!  I have some questions tho because I’ve never heard of a survival kit before!

-is this their gift?

-if not, when do you give these to them?

-could you add their gift to it and give it as one thing?

Hope I didn’t bombard you 🙂  This is really cute and I’m doing those bags for my bridesmaids too so I didn’t know what the etiquette is for survival kits 🙂

@GratefulHoops:

A friend of mine gave all of us these at the rehearsal dinner the night before. She gave us the eyeshadow and lipstick she asked us to wear, along with our jewelry, a compact, tons of other little things (like the ones listed here) as well as a sewing kit, spot remover, advil, band-aides, and bobby-pins. It was so sweet and awesome to have all of this stuff on hand, just in case of emergencies (like when the RB got chocolate on the bride’s gown).

She put everything in little silver make-up bags with a blue ribbon for the zipper pull (her colors were blue and silver), and we all ended up using the bags as our purses, they were so pretty!

Did you make the bags? I saw DIY ones like it on Pinterest. I’m looking for something similar, but I’m afraid to DIY them and wind up wasting money!

I got them on Amazon. They were $20 for 40 of them. I think the seller was “Shoplet”.

So, this may be a stupid question…. When you’re making the bags, the tutorial says to glue the doily on and then paint it, do you just leave the doily attached and cut it around the edges of the bag or did you peel the doily off after the paint dried? I’m sorry, I’m not very crafty! Thanks!

What did you use for the letter on the bags?

Thanks!
