- Wedding: June 2012
I’ve been working on my “bridesmaid survival kits” for a while..adding little bits here and there. I also used pieces of a poem from this bee’s post: http://diy.weddingbee.com/topic/bridesmaid-survival-kits
First I found some “paint pails” at Michael’s and thought they’d be perfect to hold everything. They actually “lock” shut like a real paint lid so I went to Home Depot and they gave me a handful of paint can openers for free. I attached them to the pails with different colored carabiners from Home Depot as well. Then I used puff paint to paint on them and paper and stickers to make the initials on the top!
HERE’s WHATS INSIDE:
-Bath and Body works candle (everyone has different scent)
-Liquor (Each girl got one of each: Wine, Cupcake Vodka, and Pineapple Smirnoff)
-Face and Eye Mud Masks
-Bath and Body Works Lotion
-Bath and Body Works mini-sanitizier
Then I did the poem which pieces were borrowed from Jennifer5642.
I had to tweak it based on what I wanted to say and what my kits included:
This Survival Kit was made just to say,
I’m thankful you’re beside me on my wedding day!
There’s some booze to help you get a quick buzz
And a lint roller to remove any hair or some fuzz,
You’ll find Altoids to give you a minty fresh smile,
If a nail should break I’ve included a file.
There’s a loofah and face wipes to get squeaky clean,
And some spa masks to make you feel like a queen.
I’ve packed some Advil if ill’s what you feel,
And Band-Aids to mend you if you tackle high heels.
To help relax there’s a candle for you
Lotion and sanitizer make your skin good as new.
Hopefully this kit makes it clear to see
How special you are to the bride-to-be
I’ll forever be thankful for all that you do,
For being my bridesmaid, and just being you
Then I attached the poems to the same color paper as the initals, punched a hole through it and attached it via the carabiner! Hope the girls like them!
