When it comes to my wedding, I’m planning on a budget (and falling well within it, I must add) but sometimes, I fall in love with too many things that fall within the same category — much like what happened with my cake topper.
I’m planning a classy, modern-style reception. Mr. Notebook and I will have a cocktail houresque reception, complete with a DJ, heavy appetizers, etc – no formal sit-down reception. It fits more with our personalities.
So, I originally purchased this cake topperfrom TheKnot.com
Because it was simple & classy, elegant and I could later use it as decoration around the house.
But then, I found Etsy.com and I have to admit — I’m addicted to this website! While browsing, I searched for anything Marine Corps related, since Mr. Notebook is an officer and pilot in the Marine Corps and I’d love to incorporate that somehow. That’s when I came across this by RedLightStudio and think it could be absolutely perfect.
How adorable? It’s hand painted and everything. My sister-in-law, Mrs. Guitar, is more crafty than myself and said she can do the painting. Problem is, we can’t find where we can purchase a plain, unfinished bird similar to above to be able to do the painting.
Do you have any ideas, websites, etc. that could help with our “flighty” search?
