This was a beotch to make so far this weekend! Spray painting the boxes was childs’ play, but when it came to attaching the rhinestone strips, I just about lost my sh**… multiple times. Word of advice: adhesive backed rhinestone strips will NOT adhere securely to spray-painted surfaces. They will trick you. They will pretend to stick perfectly. Do not be decieved. Your proud-self will step away from this project for an hour and when you come back, half of the strips will be hanging off of your box. My point: HOT GLUE THOSE PUPPIES DOWN as if they didn’t even have those sticky backs! (Don’t use E-6000 either… it is worthless on spray painted surfaces as well.) I will spare you the long, painful, drawn-out story as it will probably spark the fury in me again and make me cry. Anyway, it’s not done yet – I’m thinking of attaching silver ribbon along the bottoms of each box and possibly putting a clump of Real Touch hydrangeas at the top. I’m just really proud of how it looks right now even though it’s far from perfect… had to share it with you DIY Bees because you can appreciate hard, crafty work more than my Fiance can 😉 My only concern is that I think it’s going to outshine our wedding cake….
