Here is a clip-on crystal bow I made to go with my shoe! I am probably going to wear it in the front. I am sooo excited!
Hello bees~here is my most recent DIY project. I found a way to get my DREAM shoes, some Christian Louboutin Fifi Strass heels, without shelling out over $3,000 (which would have been close to impossible). I did it by DIYing it! Yay to all things DIY!
Tada! After 20 hours of back-breaking work, here is ONE shoe:
The first picture is to show the details, and the second one is to show the sparkle! It’s really hard to try and photograph “sparkle” like a swarovski crystal heel, and pictures really do not do these shoes justice!
These shoes are still really expensive, especially because I decided to go with real Christian Louboutins. I normally don’t buy shoes this expensive, so I was pretty nervous about doing these myself since I did not know how they would come out.
I bought some swarovski crystals from a crystal wholesale store for really cheap (swarovski crystals can cost about $5 for 24 at Michaels, but I got 144 for about $4.60 in downtown LA). I spent about $300 total for genuine swarovski crystals, and then I bought some Christian Louboutin shoes from Barneys New York to strass in pale gold.
The glue I used was E6000, and the color is AB for the swarovski crystals. There are over 3,000 genuine swarovski crystals on this shoe. This project is DEFINITELY labor intensive.
The total for my shoe was still about $1,000, which is a lot, but compared to the $3,000 for the actual fifi strass by Christian Louboutin, this price seemed like a steal!
I am now working on the other shoe but I was so excited about this project that I had to post after just the one shoe! I can’t believe I’m getting my dream wedding heels!
