This was one of the first DIY projects I attempted….and by the time this pic was taken, my poor lil project here had been passed around to my friends and bounced around in my backseat… butttt… still not too shabby!
I combined a couple different ideas/techniques… Martha Stewart tutorials, as well as something I stumbled upon online about using tissue paper to make mock carnations (hence the black edges).
Also, this isn’t as huge as it looks! 4-inch styrofoam ball inside… probably about 8-ish inches in diameter for the finished project.
My ceremony will be in a hayfield, and I will most likely use these to line the aisle…. and/or hang them from the ceiling of the reception hall. Haven’t really decided yet!

I don’t know if the pic is deceiving, but how big is this thing!!!!

It IS deceiving! It has a 4 inch styrofoam ball as the center. Probably only about 8 inch diameter.

Do you have information about the mock carnations, I love this idea 🙂

How did you get the pretty edging on the edges? How many paper filters did it take for one? I may do this, finding out the silk flowers ones take way more flowers then I thought!

This is so pretty – you did a great job! I would also like to know how you made it; the edging is great!
