STEP 1 cut down branches. manzanita grows all over on the side of the road in mountian area. Most People who have it on their property do not want it and would probably let you have it for free…
Note any tree will do as long as it can suport your crystals, tea lights etc.
STEP 2 Let them dry until it is easy for the leaves to be brushed off. i would hang them unside down so that the brances dry going straight. when dry remove leaves
STEP 3 Find a container. I used a 9x9x9 glass vase. You can use almost any thing. JUST REMEMBER THAT IT WILL BE TOP HEAVY. make sure the bottom will not tip. If you are putting them out side this is very very important.
STEP 4 Cement trees. I uesed quick crete that you can get in the hardware store. It sets up fast and has little rocks. I was told that you can use plaster of paris. but QC is so much faster drying.
I used the contianer that i wanted. I lined it with cardboard. then i placed a plastic garbage bag in the container. the cardboard acts like a space saver. So i could get the base in and out but have the weight that i needed.
I filled the vase/container most of the way with quick crete. then i placed the tree in and added the rest of the quick crete intill desired height. since it sets fast i held it untill the tree would not move. it was about 5 min. I let it stay in the container for 20 min. i took the bag and base out and let them finish drying.
STEP 5 Trim bushes. it depends on waht you want.
STEP 6 I then pained then brown
