How did you make this?
cool how did you make it ?
Thanks so much.
I had some extra tounge and groove pieces of wood left over, but you could use any scrap wood.
The base is 23″ square
next level is 19″ square
second from top is 14″
and the top is 8″
I nailed 2 strips across the bottom of the levels for support, and then nailed the edge around each. The hardest was the center poles. I had a 3X3 piece of wood that I cut into 3 equal pieces at 6 1/2″ each. I measured to find the middle of each level, and then from the middle mark I meaured out 1 1/2″ on all sides (to find where the blocks shoud be placed and then traced a light out line around the block.
I sanded and clear coated everything, then I glued the blocks to the bottom of each level, nailed it with small nails from nail gun to keep it from moving and then put a couple of screws in each. then I turned the smallest one upside down so that the block was on top, and glued it and placed the next level on it where I had it out lined, nailed and angle screwed it. Repeated until done.
I just tried to make the best of my scrap, but if you were to buy wood, I wouldn’t buy anything thicker than 1″ for the levels, so that it doesn’t get to heavy.
Hope this helps, I’m not much of an explainer, I’m a do-er.
p.s. please don’t mind the mess in the background, we are remodeling, so tired of shifting from room to room, and the DUST! Ha
I told the man he MUST make me one of these! Love it!
