- Wedding: August 2011
Being international couple, we had small wedding in August only with immediate families at where we live, which is the middle point of our families.
And now, after almost 4 months, we are traveling to my country and having second reception there with my relatives and friends.
I didn’t know you can customize m&m’s when I was planning wedding. If I did, I would have got them for our wedding favor.
Luckily enough, I had second chance to pick wedding favors so I ordered customized m&m’s for this second reception.
You can pick up to three colors. I picked red, pink, and dark pink since our reception theme color (which my mom picked) is red & pink. And you can add up to four image, clip-art, or message on the m&m’s.
You can also choose packaging. I ordered 5lb bulk bag since it is just right amount for our guests and I was planning to get tins my self. You can choose to customize tins or favor bags too. But I am cost-sensitive so I decided to do my own.
5lb bulk bag is $129.99 (10lb is $249.99) though I ended up paying almost $190 due to shipping. (shipping is expensive since I do not live in “continental US”.)
Close up. Our names, wedding date & place, “Hapily ever after!”, & our picture from the wedding on the m&m’s.
I went to nearby craft store and picked this heart-shaped clear tins. One package includes one dozen of tins and each package is $4.98.
I was thinking to get customized stickers to put on thses tins. I looked stickers on Etsy but nothing really draw my attention.
After I recieved my m&m’s, I was looking at them and thought, “m&m’s? “m”r. & “m”rs.??” Suddenly the idea of the sticker design came down to me, so I decided to make it my own too.
But I am not computer savvy by any means. I used Microsoft Word to make the design. (Hey, don’t laugh!!) I have no idea how to use or what to use for designing.
After I designed, I ordered it at stickeryou.com. At this site, you can upload whatever and they make them to stickers. I ordered 2 sheets of stickers and paid around $15.00 including shipping.
They came out really nice too!
So I put m&m’s into each tins, and put the stickers on them.
And voila! My project completed!!!
Our reception is next weekend and we are leaving US in a couple of days!
