I’m using Lapis from David’s Bridal too. My understanding is that the dark purple hydrangeas are engineered and the color can’t be guaranteed. For that reason I’m going with purple lizeanthus (sp?). They are very hearty and will last a long time. I’m using my aisle decor also as my centerpieces so they need to last a long time. I’ve heard that the hydrangeas need a lot of water too.

Good luck

yeah lizzies last longer and so dark. they are a beautiful flower, i am using them as weell.. Hydranges need lots of water. When is your big day? My florsit,( my uncle) said that hydrangeas are a beautiful flower but very delicate. My wedding is in September and its hot in the valley. so my flowers would need to be inside with AC and water so they dont wilt.

Sorry mcdawn but it wasn’t me who had the uncle who was a florist……however, my florist did say that hydrangeas can (and probably should) go in a tube with water. I’m using cones too. Mine will be filled with the lizzies which do fine in wet foam….you might want to consider it as an option…..I’m told they are very hearty.

Ah……sentimental reasons ALWAYS trumps practical reasons. Make it work. Good luck!
