I am looking into doing my own bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, etc. and this website has some great photos and info regarding that. Being that my florist will charge $4 per rose, I’ve decided to look to online wholesale retailers. I’ve been looking at a variety of sources that have been recommended here and I was wondering if anyone knew the difference between http://www.gammaflowers.com and others like http://www.fiftyflowers.com and http://www.bloomsbythebox.com ? The prices on gammaflowers seems to be the most affordable above all others and I’m worried that it might be too good to be true. I’ve read a few favorable posts regarding gamma’s, but an overwhelming number of bride-to-be’s seem to have gone with fiftyflowers. Is there something everyone else knows that I don’t?

I know that bloomsbythebox usually comes ready to put together. The floral pieces are already proportioned out.
I personally have ordered through Gamma Flowers. I did a trial run and will be using them for all of my wedding flowers. I was in the same boat when a florist was just too much for roses. I have a large bridal party and wanted it my way without having to skimp due to costs. I’d recommend practicing with approx 30-40 roses ahead of time. You can even get these from a local grocery store. It will give you an idea of how many roses per bouqet that you will want and in the end, how many total you need to order. I was completely satisfied with my small order from Gamma flowers and I even recommended them to another friend that ordered them for her baby’s christening. I was quite leary to order online and really did my research. I talked with the people at Gamma Flowers so many times that they know me when I call now. haha. Anways, I would highly recommend them. They are extremely helpful and their products are great.
I’ve called them so much and had a few friends now order from them, that Gamma Flowers offered me a discount code that would save my friends 5%. Let me know if you plan to order from here and I can give you the code.
Hope that helps.

I probably will go with Gamma’s, but I’ll let you know for certain. I was a little worried what it’d be like with them shipping to Hawaii, but it seems that they ship everywhre else fine enough.
Thanks for the info.

I am thinking about do my flowers myself as well. Does anyone know how to store the flowers and how many days before the wedding they should be made?

Amandanm83, You can find all of that information on whatever website you order the flowers from. Some flowers have very particular instructions on storage and prep. The standard is 2-3 days before you can have them delivered. You usually want to let them sit for several hours to open up a little. Of course this depends where you get them from, too. Store them in water and in a cool shaded place if you don’t want them to open too quickly. I did a lot of research on this online before ordering any flowers.
