Miss Carrie Berry,

first i want to tell you that I LOVE your card letters and the birdcage.  however, I do not think that it is a good idea to leave the letters on a hanger even if you decorate it.  I feel like it will always look like a hanger 🙂 what I would do was maybe get a base (syrofom, cardboard ect) and glue the letters so they are standing up, decorate the base with some simple wraping paper and then you can put the base in front of the birdcage.  Just a thought! happy planning and goodluck!

i dont think the hanger looks nice at all… Looks out of place. Maybe if you hang it above or below the birdcage

Can you possibly tie each letter to 1 panel of the bird cage so it says cards all the around the bird cage? And since it appears that you have 6 sides with only 5 letters, maybe you could add an exclamation point so that there is letter or character for each side. This would look nicer than the hanger and would help with your fixation for having the letters hang.

You did a great job on cutting out and decorating the letters! I would have thought you bought them like that if this weren’t the DIY blog! Unfortunately, I have to reflect everyone’s sentiments here. Is there a way you can join all the letters (maybe glue or wire somehow) and attach it to the cage? It might take some finessing, but I think it could work!Good luck! And really, other than the hanger being distracting, everything else looks great! Awesome work!

You could find a plaque like this and attach your letters, i’ve seen them at Michaels, you could use ribbon to hang it.

You could also just glue them to a piece of wood like this.

Carrie, I am a wedding planner and decorator and yeah, the hanger has GOT to go! LOL, What I would do is get a nice hook that will stand if you’re inside or stick in the ground if you are outside, then I would get smaller letters, you don’t want to scream give me cash, so slightly smaller letters will look more elegant, I think, then I would get a thick ribbon, the color of your wedding, and wrap it around the base of the cage and hot glue the letters around the bottom, it will be flat and even if you line the bottoms up perectly and I think it would look great. Good luck!!

if you want my opinion, i think you should remove the hanger, and tie the strings to the top of the cage. LIke over top of it and then at the top, weave the string in between the bars and tie the ends together on the other side of the knob on top. That way it will stay put, and the letters will be hanging there. Even go one step further and replace the string with fishing line so that the letters appear to be floating.
