What look were you going for?  Do you have an inspiration pic?  My birdcage veil was MUCH harder than I thought!  My mom and I spent an entire day working on that thing to get it shaped right.  finally she had to practically sew it into my hair to get the right shape lol.  But it was worth it in the end!  Were you planning on using the tulle or was that for practice?

I didn’t think David’s bridal had too much variety with the birdcage veils.  However when I went to a local bridal shop to get fitted for a BM dress for a friend’s wedding they had a lot more.  Try checking around your area.  And etsy has like a billion.

You could always buy a veil on ebay for a really cheap price, and they actually are nice. And when you get them in the mail, they are folded, but you could just hang it in the bathroom when you take a shower and the steam will get rid of the folds and wrinkles.
