My DIY bouquet. I was really impressed by how well they turned out – and I had never, ever arranged a bouquet until the day before my wedding.
The light pink flowers are peonies, the dusty roses are garden roses (Romantic Antike), and the smaller cream flowers (and smaller pink with black centers) are ranunculus. I also used Dusty Miller as greenery around the bouquet, but I would recommend using within the bouquet if you’re worried about potential wilting.
Tips for any other DIYers – I would NOT recommend using Romantic Antike in bouquets – the stem is not forgiving at all. With the ranunculus, I would allow for enough time to wire the stems. We ended up getting the flowers a day late, so there wasn’t enough time unfortunately – which meant droopy flowers by mid-reception for the bridesmaids. Whoopsies!
Pick them up Thursday night for a Saturday wedding, or first-thing Friday morning. Definitely assign one or two friends to help you – it will take several hours, but it’s well worth it. We saved probably $1,500 by DIYing it!
