So I thought that a cardbox would be super easy to do…turns out its a bit trickier than I imagined. I bought the boxes as a 3-pack at JoAnn.com for 9.99. I think they are a little too small, but it will work out just fine.
I bought the black wrapping paper at Hobby Lobby and the ribbon I believe came from both JoAnn’s and Hobby Lobby.
I can’t remember where I got the damask wrapping paper at, I think it was at Target or something (Sorry!!)
So I started out by measuring the sizes of the boxes and drawing it out on the lids of the boxes. I used an Exacto knife to cut the boxes.
After I cut all the boxes, I stacked them together and made sure the cards would have clearance to get to the bottom.
Wrapping the boxes was the hardest part. Im sure a lot of it had to do with the black wrapping paper I bought. I was really thick and when it creased, it left white marks so I was going crazy trying to fix it.
I didn’t take pics of wrapping because it was frustrating me! lol
So I wrapped them as you would a gift, of course being careful to get it just right! This took a lot of effort and wrapping the lids was the hardest part! Until you get to the hole for the card! That was really tricky. I just sliced with my exacto knife in a big X then folded the ends in and taped them.
When I was done wrapping, I used a long piece of my green ribbon around the package and taped it at the top. Then using the WIRED ribbon, I made a bow. Very easy! Just make one big loop and hold it, them keep making smaller loops until you get the size that you like. I stapled my ribbon together when I was done.
Here is the finished product!
