So, I’m really loving this idea that one of my bridesmaid’s came up with about having cotton candy bouquets in lieu of flowers (since our wedding is carnival theme)! It’s a super cute idea IMO, but I know that real cotton candy wouldn’t work, as it would likely melt, or attract bugs, or get eaten, hah. I found this blog that writes about how easy it is to DIY:
It looks great, and very REAL! Buuuuttt, I’m concerned about “spray-painting”them – I don’t want them to STINK! Has anyone ever tried doing this before, or are there any handygirls out there that know a way to Dye polyfil with a less stinky substance?
this is the fake stuff from the blog – I’d believe it!

You might try adding food coloring or some other type of dye to the batting. This might help… And hey, you may even be able to add cotton candy flavor to give it the smell of real cotton candy.

You can use Kool-aid to dye things! Just Google “Kool-aid dying fabric” to see how to do it. I believe you use a little vinegar to set the color so it doesn’t run, but the vinegar smell airs out. And then you’re left with a hint of fruity smell.
