Hello fellow bees!
My fiancé and I are planning to get married August 2015 and we are having a vintage themed wedding. I love the idea of guests being able to keep centrepieces forever so I didn’t want to use fresh flowers in our centrepieces (also they are pretty expensive!). I came across the idea of streamer/crepe paper flowers on Pinterest and fell in love with it! We have six of these centrepieces. When I was finishing off the third centrepiece I ran out of streamers/crepe paper so I went back to Target where I initially bought the baby blue streamers and the colour is off! I’ve looked all around and can’t find anything similar. My best bet is to just buy the ones from Target since they are the same blue, just the new crepe paper/streamers are a bit darker.
What I’m asking is, is it possible to lighten the streamers/crepe paper on my own? HELP!
This is one of the completed main parts of the centrepiece.

beautiful! Try the dollar tree or maybe a party store

Thank you plpinkinsa2001! I’ve looked all over and can’t find a match so the closest I could find is at the store I originally bought the streamers from. My justification was I figured they would be using the same dye of blue (since different stores use so many different shades) so I just need to lighten it up somehow. Maybe let the streamers hang out in the sun a bit to lighten the colour? <br />

Maybe try to lay the paper out in the sun? They look beautiful!

Another option would be to make some of them white, or whatever accent color you want, and alternate them with the blue. I’ve been to receptions where they varied the centerpieces a bit and I thought it looked cool.

Along with what a PP said, would it be possible to take some flowers out of the pieces you’ve already made and then distribute them amongst the remaining three and fill in the rest with a slightly different shade?
