Over the past 3 months I’ve been working on making chair covers for my 325 rented gold chiavari chairs for my wedding reception. My theme is Old Hollywood / Vintage Glam and I wanted to do something a little different so after searching and searching, I fell in love with this concept:
I decided to make my own (yes 325 of them…whew!)
I purchased white chiffon fabric from Downtown Los Angeles and had them cut into individual pieces.
1. Purchase several rolls of gold rhinestone mesh for the buckles.
2. Cut them into strips large enough to wrap around the draped fabric.
3. Purchase Velcro and cut them into small rectangular strips.
4. Attach the velcro to both sides of the rhinestone mesh
After the wedding this month, I will be renting them out. Please contact me for more details.

Those are beautiful! How much would you say the entire project cost you? How long is each chair sash? Did you have to do anything to keep the fabric from fraying? Grat job! It looks amazing!

The following prices reflect the cost to make 375 chair covers:
- 375 pieces of chiffon fabric (5ft x 5ft) : $750
- (3) 10 yard rolls of Rhinestone mesh @ $10/each : $30
- 10 yeards of velco : $30
Total cost of project: $810 (Averaging approximately $2.10 per chair cover)
I left the fabric unfinihsed and simply tucked the ends inward before placing the tie.
Companies similiar to http://www.wildflowerlinens.com/products/chair-covers charge $6/chair cover or more for RENTAL.
$2.10 (DIY project) vs. $6.00 (Rental)

bruin2005: Hello Bruin:
my daughter will get married in september and i love your chair covers.
I was wondering if you still renting them and how much you are charging it.
I need no more than 60, hers is a small wedding and i will have to take them with me since is a destinations wedding.
