This DIY project is super easy and super cheap! I bought 1 yard of fabric from JoAnn’s and didnt even use 1/8 of it.
I started by cutting out a strip of fabric (I got a crinkle fabric and wanted the texture all going in the same direction.
Next, cut out the petals by angling the cuts. I didnt want my petals to all look the same so i cut randomly but you could create a template if you wanted.
Next, cut the petal into the shape you want. You can either round off the top or create a “heart” shape like i did
After all of your petals are cut out, string them onto your needle and thread and place them where you want them
Once you get them all in place, run a couple stitches through to hold them all where you want them. From there, you will have a flat flower.
After that, I ran a stitch around a few layers and pulled tight which caused the petals to rise and created some depth. I plan on adding a CZ large round earring in the center to give it some bling and I will add a comb on the back so the girls can wear it in their hair. This was a very simple project that took about 30 min tops per flower.
