I am on a mission for vases for my wedding and I have found that you can get them for a fraction of the cost at second hand stores such as Good Will.  Also, if you have time to wait till next summer go to some garage sales and I’m sure you will suprise yourself how cheap they are.  I need over 20 vases and know that I will never use them again, so I don’t want to spend that much on them.  Just an idea to help you save a few dollars.

I think they look great though, very full & I love the color.  Have you tried just using the black ribbon?  I think that the pick ribbon might take away from the beaty in the black ribbon…just a thought 🙂

What flower wholesaler did you use?

Keep us updated on what you decided!

Love the centrepiece – i’m trying to convince my fiance on carnations and this is perfect to show him!

I agree with lellingen about using only the one ribbon. what about alternating pink only on some tables, and black on the others?

These centerpieces are super cute!  Damask patterns are easy to find, even black lace is super pretty, and you could easily incorporate this these elsewhere in the wedding.  I agree to sticking to one ribbon over using both.  Maybe find a thicker damask or a thick solid pink to layer underneat the black ribbon?  And not to be picky, but if you lowered the water level you could hide it with the ribbon.  🙂

Carnations are hardy and they require less prep than roses…plus they come in pretty colors and they smell great!  Good pick!

I might try something similar using narrower vases from the dollar store and doing a trio at each table.

I’m looking at doing the same idea for my centerpieces. How did you attach the ribbons? I’m having a hard time figuring out how to not get glue marks, but not using it at all and just tying them leaves them slipping off the vases. What did you use?

I like this, it’s very cute, You can get good vases at the dollar store. I ordered 18 of them online and it only costed $1 each. That will save you a lot. Also if you bunch the flowers together and tie them right under the blooms it will mack it look full without having to use so many flowers. Good luck!

Of course Ebay and if you don’t mind having them not identical then places like goodwill and other second shops will have them on the cheap. Also I was in wal-mart this past week and found great vases, though not as big as the one you have pictured, for only $3! Also don’t forget to try the dollar store and dollar tree, these places are the best for good deals.
