So I am so glad I saw Mrs. Eggplant’s invitation post a few months ago. I was really struggling with my invitations (and trying to avoid buying a card and pocket set).
I really wanted to make my invitations very minimalistic, and I think I succeeded overall.

Oh my gosh thank you for this post! I think I will be using a simular idea instead of a pocket invite if the Fin will agree. I just love it!

Beautiful invitations!!! Do you have the dimensions of what you did, like envelope size, etc?
Thanks so much! They are beautiful!
Large white paper for invitation “base”: 8.5″ x 11″ folded in half horizontally
Small black square: 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″
Small white square: 1″ x 1″ (purchased letter stickers from Michaels that are this dimension)
Black invitation back: 7 3/4″ x 5″
White invitation: 7 1/4″ x 4 1/2″
RSVP: 6″ x 4″
Map: 7 1/2″ x 5 1/4″
Outer envelope: 6″ x 9″
Inner envelope: 4 3/4″ x 6 1/2″
Tacky glue (important that it’s tacky glue, especially to hold the ribbon down!)
1/8″ thick foam squares (I used 1 on each corner of the small black square – helps to hold down the ribbon and create dimension)
If you want to change the size of the invitation, start with your largest piece of paper and decrease each piece of paper that you are attaching by 1/2″ (will result in a 1/4″ border around each paper). I started with 8.5″ x 11″ so I wouldn’t have to cut the paper and because I was able to easily find envelopes at Michaels.
