- Wedding: October 2013
So long story (somewhat) short, we currently live about 6 hours from SO’s family and 13 hours from mine. We were originally planning to have one big ‘ol party in our new home but unfortunately just couldn’t swing it. (Not to mention, neither mother was very pleased with their severely limited guest lists.) As a compromise, we decided to have a super small, family-only wedding where we currently live followed by 2 receptions in our respective hometowns with our extended family and friends.
Well, some of our friends were super bummed to miss the official “I do”s and asked if they could come to the wedding ceremony anyway – even though we won’t be able to feed them afterwards (hence why we’re inviting them to one of the at-home reception 1-2 months later).
Both SO and I think it’s beyond sweet that they want to share the day with us – some of them traveling as far as 8 hours to do it. (Seriously – we have the best friends ever.) To ensure that they know exactly how excited and happy we are to have them come (if they can), I decided to make them special invites for the ceremony. It also ended up being a super practical way to share some additional details about the plans for the night before and night of should they decide to come.
OK, enough of that blabber – onto the pictures. Let the photo overload commence in 3…2…1:
