I DIY’d some mercury glass votives and vases using Krylon’s Looking Glass spray paint. You lightly spray the inside of the votive/vase with 3-4 coats then lightly spray with a 50/50 mix of vinegar and water. The vinegars eats at the paint so you can buff off chunks to get the mercury glass look. They came out WONDERFUL, but after filling the vases with water, the spray paint wiped right off.
Has anyone done this before for vases? Is there a flower-safe sealant I could use. These will have live flowers in them, so I don’t want them all dying!
