My first DIY project for the wedding began with inspiration from a Bellagala mailing – a beautiful pearl choker! I cut the picture out (shown below) and went to Michael’s for some pearls, accent beads, and a locket (with two birds in a nest) to go in the middle. A nice sales associate gave me the idea to use the multiple-strand stainless steel wire with nylon coating as the “string,” and to use “crimping tubes” and a “crimper” instead of tying knots (the last time I made jewelry I was about 10). I went home with a bunch of beads and an idea. It took me about three tries to get it how I wanted it, but check out the finished product below! The first image is the inspiration photo, the second two are my finished necklace, a bit longer than the inspiration, but hopefully a better look for me! The dress I’m getting is pretty simple, so it should be a good bit of glitz to go along with the simplicity.
Let me know what you think! It’s my first project, though, and I think it turned out pretty good!
