DIY: Photobooth crafts
For our wedding, I did a TON of do it yourself projects. I could have easily purchased most of these items, but that would be too easy. I want our own personal touches to shine through on our big day.
I tried to document, in pictures, throughout the DIY projects because I knew I wanted to blog about it after the wedding. I couldn’t blog about it before for two reasons. First, because then I would give away all the wedding decoration surprises! And secondly, blogging about the DIY projects was really the last thing I needed on my to do list before the wedding.
The internet is a very, very useful and addicting tool when planning a wedding. I searched, scoured, and searched some more for photo booth prop templates and ideas. I found quite a few good ones:
There are many, many more.
So I started at my local craft store. And to be completely honest, I frequented 3 throughout the wedding planning process: Michaels, A.C. Moore, and JoAnn Fabric. So pick one of those.
I bought Woodsies Wooden Dowels:
And then browsed the felt aisle. Who knew there was so many different kinds of felt? Felt with adhesive backing, felt with gilter, stiff felt, foam felt… I picked one of each and whatever I fancied. At under 80 cents a sheet, how could I lose? I loaded up on hot glue sticks for the gun, and I was ready to make some photo booth fun.
I printed and cut out all the templates I liked. And we started tracing on the felt. Cut out the felt and glue to the sticks. Pretty darn easy.
My friends and husband are so creative.
They thought we needed some pirate hooks to go
with the hats and patches!
The finished products!
I also purchased some fun props….
