I’m a DIY kind of person when it comes to invitations. I’ve had many hours of trying different designs and I have found the one I want. I used scrap paper to make a mock pocket.
My paper should arrive this weekend and even though I feel like I have tons of time to hassle about my invitations, I started now since we (FH and I) are making them. I bought my paper from Anchor Paper and they are great to work with and cheaper then Kelly Papers. The paper mill store also has very good prices. I did my shopping around so I can say for Aspire Petallics and Curious Metallic paper both stores have great prices.
So this is a picture of my pocket for my main invite, rsvp card, directions, and accommodation inserts. I can use a sheet of 8.5 x11 for two pockets, so about .20 cents per pocket. My cuts have to be precise, but then again that’s why we started now. I will be using ribbon for the bellyband and for the bellyband label I use my cuttlebug. The biggest obstacle I was having was the adhesive. I bought an adhesive from Wal-Mart it wasn’t a cheap one, but it didn’t hold well at all. Then I tried the Super Tacky Tape – 6 yards 1/8 “from the Paper Source Store and it works super well for 92lb cover cardstock. When I complete a real invitation I will post the real pictures.
