My DIY wedding invites. 🙂
First the finances.
I made 102 wedding invites. The total cost was
Michaels Vellum Invites – $120 with shipping and tax
Cards and Pockets – $184.04 + $13.24 with shipping and tax.
Office Max – $15.00 for 250 heavy card stock sheets. I’ve only used 110, but I don’t know what I’ll do with the other cardstock. $67 for labels.
The fiancé did calligraphy on the envelopes. He made a few mistakes so we had to order a few extras. The majority of the 2nd purchase at cards and pockets is due to shipping. In hindsight, I should have just ordered a few extra envelopes and saved myself the $10 shipping charge.
Total = $3.91 per invite.
Where did the cost come from?
0.80 per invite for the pockets.
1.18 per invite for Michaels Vellum Invite
0.67 per invite for labels
Holy cow, I didn’t realize how expensive labels were! We used return address labels for the RSVP envelopes and for the return addresses of the main envelope. I may have been able to save some money if I price shopped. I had no idea they were so expensive!
I could have printed the monograms at home, but they only came out to about $0.15 per invite, so I figured it was worth it.
I could have printed the Vellum invites at home, but I really wanted the fancy raised ink that Michaels can do. I did a bit of searching and I couldn’t find anyway to do that at home.
Other than that, I don’t think I could have saved much money.
Now the pics. 🙂
