Hi Everyone my VERY FIRST DIY post in anything so excited to share with my fellow Brides my boutonnieres especially if your going for a shabby chic or as I like to call it vintage chic theme wedding!! Enjoy!!!!
Honestly you HAVE to get a Scoring Board from Martha Stewart because it will make it so easy on you instead of using a ruler and you scissor cutting skills. I bought one from Jo-Ann’s with their 40% coupon totally worth it!! I seriously suggest signing up for Michaels, Hobby Lobby, and Jo-Ann’s coupons come very in handy!!!
Here is what a Score Board looks like…
Pick your favorite paper or scrapbook paper and line it up at 1 1/2 for the paper rossettes I did shown…
Then with the pen that comes with the score board it will bend the paper at whatever widith you want it but here shown is one inch…I hope everyone can see how its making the lines for me to bend the paper for the accordian effect…Then you tape the ends NOTE* if you are going for a lager rossette like two inchs you have to make two pieces of paper to connect together…Remember to use DOUBLE SIDED TAPE!
Ok this is the tricky part to take a picture of but basically gather the sides of the accordian paper and push together inward and it will flatten out as a flower right before your eyes 🙂Then what I did was cut a round circle from white cardstock and hot glued that black or whatever side you want to have in front of the rossette that way it doesn’t pop up and out it keeps it in compostionand BAM you just made a paper rossette!! Soon when you have mastered the art of making paper rossettes you will be a semi pro like me sporting these things out!SO now to show you my Groomsmen’s Boutonnieres!! The ribbons I actually bought them at michaels I don’t think they have them anymore but the company was called Bravo I believe which led me to the idea to make my own paper rossettes 🙂The Big one is for my Fiance and the smaller one is for the groomsman!!Enjoy my DIY!!! 😀
