Here’s a DIY project that my mom and I did for my table number stands… Very simple!
I bought the wooden heart stands at ACMoore for $1 each. Each stand has two side because they pinch closed on top to pinch a table number in. Also got some black sparkle paint , aqua blue and white and black damask cardstock , glue and some sponged glue dots to give a popped out affect The colors of my wedding are Black White and Malibu (from Davids Bridal) or an Aqua Blue. Painted bottom of the stand with the sparkle paint with about 2 – 3 coats with about 30 minutes in between. Traced the bigger heart shape on the Aqua card stock and the smaller heart on the damask one.Cut them out … Once paint is dry, glue on the aqua heart shaped cardstock to both sides of the stand. Then use the sponged glue dots in the middle of each side and press on the damask cardstock and your done! Took me about 2 1/2-3hours to make 15 of them only because I had to wait for paint to dry.. (the more coats of paint the more sparkly it will be….) while im only using 12 of them (lol) I can save the other 3 as an added litte gift for my bridesmaids or to pinch some pictures as decor for my new apt from the wedding…
I think DIY projects make the wedding planning and decorating process even more personal. When I see it all togther, Imma sit back and say wow we actually made this! not to mention the money saved!!!!!
I bought the table numbers cards from ebay personalized with the colors I wanted, our names and wedding date…
DIY project for under $30 for a keepsake that anyone can take home and resuse!
