Disclaimer: I am not a wedding planner, home interior decorator or florist. I’m just a DIY crafter that loves to try new things. When my daughter told me this past spring that she wanted to get married in 6 months, I knew we had to get busy. She wanted a Boho Chic theme with a little bit of rustic added. I figured out how to dye paper to look like leather ( see the outside of the wedding invitations), then hand faux finished each one of their wedding invitations. Next, the venue she chose was very limited on how you could decorate so I learned how to dry flowers and made the flower chandelier to hang over the bride and groom during the ceremony. It was actually my favorite project. We ordered miniature roses online and got mesquite branches from our land to use in the table centerpieces. We wanted to include my 4 year old granddaughter in the whole wedding since it was her mommy that was getting married. Her idea of a wedding was to eat popcorn and candy so we had a “Presley table”. For the treat bags, I had her write her name in crayon and draw a heart on a piece of paper then scanned it in and added it to wording and printed it on the bags using my printer. Overall, I was very pleased with the final result, especially since this was my first time doing a wedding. Oh, I forgot to mention my granddaughter’s dress, which was also sewn by yours truly. All of the decor was DIY and most of it is up for sale.
