- Wedding: April 2013
Our wedding is just over a year away, but I couldn’t wait to get started on the DIY projects. This is my first one 🙂
I found the boxes at Staples. They are part of the Matha Stewart line of office products, but I thought they made a great gift box too. I used a coupon and was able to get all 7 of them for about $13.00!
I bought the starfish necklaces from ebay for $4.28 each. I was a little worried about how they would look, but they actually look great and don’t look at all cheap!
I created a card to fit inside the box using my Silhouette Cameo. It took a little bit of trial and error to get everything lined up correctly with the necklace, but once I had it right, I printed them onto light gray cardstock. I then matted this onto a shimmery teal cardstock. The word bridesmaid is cut out of the gray cardstock, so that it shows through with the teal color.
I also cut the words “I couldn’t say “I do” without you!” out of black vinyl to fit the box top. I put some paper shreds in the bottom of the box and just placed the card with the necklace attached on top. Then I wrapped the box with teal and gray ribbon and topped it with a small starfish. I LOVE how they turned out!
The budget breakdown is below:
Boxes- $13.00 with coupon (btw, Staples takes Office Depot coupons)
Necklaces- $29.96 for seven
Cardstock, paper shreds, and ribbon -$8.40
Starfish- $5.60 for seven (ordered from qualityshells.com)
Vinyl- free because I already had it, but a large roll is about $7.00 at Hobby Lobby
Total: $56.96, which makes them $8.14 each
I’m having the girls wear the necklaces in the wedding, so that makes the cost a little more reasonable 🙂
