The hubster to be and I are big beer people, so naturally awesome drinks are going to be a staple at our reception. The most recent reception we went to did awesome drink stirrers, so I thought about those, but then again – our beer selection is going to be more prominent that the mixed drink selection. Personalized drink coasters crossed my mind!
Customizing a whole bunch was going to get expensive, so I bought some coaster blanks from KatzAmericas (1000 for $24.87, SHIPPED!)
Bought wedding-themed stamps at Michaels ($9.99 for a set of 6, I’m only using 3 of them) and Archival stamp pads in black and green (on sale for $2.99 each)
I’m also ordering a custom stamp from an Etsy seller, customized with our names & date (here without the customization on it yet – we’re getting married 7/7/11, that’s why the fireworks)
I was able to stamp 600 coasters (200 of each of the kid quotes) and set them with a couple seconds under a hot iron (so they won’t bleed) during 2 episodes of True Blood!
Once I receive the custom stamp, I’m doing 400 of those. We’re putting customized ones out on the tables and at the bar for the reception, and as one of our favors, each guest will receive a coaster set of 1 of each of the 4 designs. I’m thinking of either putting them in small paper gift bags, or tying with ribbon, but that might be more challenging.
So out of $40.84 I squeezed out 200 wedding favors (that would be 20 cents a coaster set!!) plus something neat for the reception. It was fast, and it was easy 😉
I peeked around online and found http://www.katzamericas.com/Products/BlankCoasters
The next favor project: RUBIKS CUBES!!! They arrived today from Oriental Trading (17 dozen):
This one’s gonna be a much more time consuming!! Gotta peel those stickers off, put our pics on, and exacto knife cut them all. But I’m excited!!
