I dont know anything about embossing, but I really love this stamp. Im trying to find a custom one for us too and think I may just look up your guy. They look great.

Are you having these at the bar for the reception, do people need to walk up to grab their drinks. If so, I would think your 250 would be quite enough. Many guest will drink wine at the table, one person will bring drinks for a friend. In these cases people will not use a napkin. But having them will be a great touch.

Cocktail hour is different, I have no idea how many to make for mine. Signature drinks will be served by waiters and each cocktail will be given with a napkin, appetizers will be circulated with napkins and our two stationary food tables must have napkins. Now that is of napkins, how many I do not know but I have 100 right now (not nearly enough)

Best of Luck!

Kimberlee, just another idea, but my venue coordinator also suggested some of my napkins by the dessert/cake table too!

I havent embossed napkins, only cardstock for my invitations, but I had the same problem of getting some of the powder off b/c it got stuck in the texture of my paper.  I used a small paint brush to just brush away the extra powder.

Hopefully that will work for you if you plan on embossing the rest!

Good Luck!

Hi there! Glad I could inspire you! They look great! I have no info on embossing, but I think they look fine just stamped. Like I said in my post, I liked how some parts of the stamp weren’t completely black, giving them character 🙂 I’m only using mine for cocktail hour for (hopefully) 100 guests. So I stamped 125. I figure my venue has napkins too, so once mine run out, they’ll just use plain ones. I didnt want to make too many and have them not get used, then i’d be all pissy about it…lol! I think I read somewhere on the bee or elsewhere that you should have 2 napkins per guest, but I clearly did not follow that rule myself. I think they’re mire appropriate at cocktail hour where everyone is chillin with drinks in hand needing that cute napkin…vs….reception time where everyone will get their drink and go back to their table, no napkin necessary. Plus I’m super cheap and I didnt want to spend more $ if I didn’t need too. Yes, my napkins cost me $5, but hey! That’s $5! Lol!!

I think that using colored stamp ink but *clear* embossing powder is key.  This way your stray embossing dust doesn’t show up on the napkin.  Maybe give it a try?

Kimberlee.. I’m kinda creeped out! I’ve ordered all my stamps from the same guy on eBay too.. and we have the same birds and almost the same colors!!

Although it’s VERY cool, it made me step back and go whoa!!!
