So when I first saw this cardbox on etsy, I knew that’s what I wanted. I just didn’t want the $40 + $10 shipping pricetag. So I figured I’d take a shot at making a copy.
Here is the etsy cardbox:
It’s a pretty simple cardbox, the hard part is finding all the supplies. Of course not one Joann’s near me carries hat boxes… Luckily I found them at kmart.com for super cheap. I also had to order the ribbon from papermart because apparently navy blue striped ribbon doesn’t exist in craft stores. The flowers I easily picked up at michaels with a 30% off my entire purchase coupon.
I cut the holes with a thin box cutter that I had lying around, and that was probably the hardest part of the entire project. I marked with a pencil around each box where the top and bottom of the ribbon should hit so it was completely even going around the box. I cut a heart out of one of the circles I cut out of the boxes and I painted it with some old acrylic paints I already had. For about half the price as the etsy cardbox, I created my own! Here it is!
