I’m using these fabric flowers as decor during our afternoon reception. The reception will be outdoors with lots of burlap, lace and twine. I used was a plain white sheet and some wood beads. (Camera phone!)
This is what inspired me.
I’m want to make the “lantern” out of twine and add the flowers probably with a little bit of greenery. Theres a lot of diy yarn/twine lantern tutorials out there. Hopefully they turn out as good as they are in my head!
What do you think?

Do you have a tutorial on how you made the flowers? I have been looking for this type of flower to make hair pins for my girls.

This tutorial gave me the idea. There are just a few things that I did differently.
-Changed the shape of the petals
-Only two layers of petals (6 petals per layer)
-Added beads to the center
The larger petals are only about an 1 1/4 in long. The first few flowers that I made were bigger, but I like the smaller ones.
I also made the slit in the petal a little larger and cut off the extra “legs”. That made the petals “stand up” a little more. I staggered the second layer of petals. Then I slightly folded them backwards.
Hope that helps! 🙂
