I have been looking for a tutorial or something on how to make fabric flowers just like your white one. Did you use a template or just do it on your own?
the purple colors are gorgeous!
How long did it take you to make the purple bouquet? Its absolutely gorgeous.
Thanks for sharing… I’ve seen this tutorial before but was having a hard time picturing the flowers used in a bouquet. They look great!
how did you do the purple ones? i would love to see a tutorial!
These are beautiful!! I made fabric flowers too, but mine look a little less like flowers, sigh :). Yours are awesome!
Thanks everyone!! The bouquet did take a few weekends to make. But it is definitely worth it. I used the same tutorial for the dark purple flowers:
I used a heavier, satin type of fabric for those. For the lighter purple flowers, I used a light organza fabric and this tutorial:
The only change I made was to run the strips of fabric over a candle to seal the edges. And I just used hot glue instead of sewing them. Hope that helps!
Did you use a foam ball to put the flowers together for your bouquet? Or what did u use to hold them together? I’m doing one too, but I kind of dont want to use a styrofoam ball because it looks kind of weird. Urs looks amazing. Thanks.
Thanks Juanixx1! I attached each flower to a stem. Mrs. Locket has a great tutorial:
Putting them on wires is perfect b/c then you can arrange it into the shape you want. I wrapped all the stems together with floral tape and stuffed tulle underneath the bouquet to fill out any spaces between the flowers. I draped ivory fabric underneath the bouquet and used the same fabric to wrap the handle.
Thanks 🙂 I already started on mine. So far so good. About how many flowers do u think you used? What are you doing for your bridesmaids? I kind of want to do one for my bridesmaids also, but…IDK if I really want to make 6 more…my fingers hurt!
I was thinking if I don’t do them for the bridesmaids, then I can do babys breath bouquets for them…whats your opinion? Thanks.
BRILLIANT! Thank you for sharing. I have made my BM flower ball from felt and buttons, and because we are having a DW I am asking all the ladies in my life to make me one stem from the same colours and materials for my bouquet. Lord knows what the outcome will be…. but hey if I get some really ‘bad’ stems I can always hide them at the back, right….?!! 😉
@Juanixx1 – There’s about 30 flowers in my bouquet and it’s about 6″ in diameter. I made bouquets for my bridesmaids. Their bouquets in the second picture in my post. But I only had to do 3! I used the same style, just inverted the colors for them. Babies breath could work. I thought about dried lavendar for mine. Or you could make a wrist corsage for each girl instead of a bouquet. I made a pearl bracelet with a purple flower for the mothers. Do you have any pics of yours?
@Sparkidoodle – I love that idea! That will be so special. I’m sure you won’t get any bad stems 😉
