Although this is a wreath I made for my home, I couldn’t help but think this would make a really great decor item for a Fall inspired wedding!
You will need…
1 Green styrofoam wreath (Dollar Tree $1.00)
4 packs of assorted decorative leaves (Dollar Tree $4.00)
Hot glue gun, and glue sticks (Already had $0)
Black ribbon (Dollar Tree $1.00)
Gold Ribbon (Dollar Tree $1.00)
Green and orange pattern ribbon (Joann’s Fabrics $0.50)
(You can switch anything to your personal taste!)
Total cost $7.50! Now that is a deal!
Start by clearing out a craft space. I do most of my crafting and creating on the floor on a towel. This means the puppy dog goes in her crate because she is a terror with crafts supplies! Once you are all set up you will begin by hot gluing your leaves to the foam wreath.
Arrange one layer of leaves around the wreath by applying a thick layer of hot glue to the bottom portion of the wreath and stick it directly onto the foam. Once you have one full layer done, flip it over. Once you are done with the back it is time to move on to the front. Use your own judgement to apply the leaves where you want them in order to achieve the desired thickness. I did one layer on the back, one on the front, and then several layers in the middle. To cover the expose green in the center I folded a layer of leaves horizontally and glued them into the center. Make sure after each layer you cut off the stems. The stems appear to be wire stems so I used my tough scissors.
To add some finishing touches I layerd the gold ribbon over the black ribbon to hang it with, and added a bow. It looks super cute on our front door!
