- Wedding: April 2011
OK. I have done my first of many diy projects. I am very happy w/ this. Keeps me optimistic for the things to come.
My first step was to get my monogram enlarged. (monogram courtesy of wedding chicks – FREE) The enlargement at staples for $2.
I put newspaper on the table first, then my monogram, then wax paper over that, (the paint will bleed and the wax paper protects it). My next step was to trace the monogram onto the aisle runner (purchased @ Michaels w/ 50% off coupon $15)
After tracing the monogram I started the painting process, a bit tedious because of the design. The total time was about 4-5 hours. I would let dry over night then check for spots that need touching up. I am going to add a 2nd copy of the monogram towards the other end, so this turned out better than expected.
