@YoungBride1414 It is set ona 7 3/4 foam semi-circle. so it's just over 8 1/2 inches with the brooches sticking out. It's also a very solid, but a comfortable in my hand. I think using the foam helps distribute the weight better because when I was trying to use the hydrangea as the base it was akward to hold and felt bulky.
@ Brooke2012 I used the foam as the base to keep the circlular shape and it makes it really easy to handle with the bouquet. It is quite bulky and gets heavy as you add more brooches. It also distributes the weight of the bouquet.
I did try to build only on the hydrangea, but I didn't like the shape and it was just easier for me to use the foam. I like that it keeps the brooches in place.
