- Wedding: June 2013
I wanted to have flower petals placed in a pattern on my runner, but i ran into two problems. One: i was getting married outside, near a pond and could not have fake petals on the ground becuase they could have blown in the pond (bad). Lastly, i didnt want to spend a bunch of money on real petals. Soo what i did was glued fake petals on my runner in a pattern instead.
This is how:
1. Buy a runner you like. * i bought mine at michaels for $302. Buy the petals you want. ALWAYS BUY IN BULK *EBAY- AMAZING is amazing !!!! buy no less then 1000. all depends on how long you want to make it.3. Buy a silicone sheet, it prevents the sticking and it makes it go alot quicker, you see.5. Buy a low heat glue gun and glue sticks. a pack of 50 will be plenty.6. Measure the distance of the alter, so you dont do more then you need4. Place all petals in a garbage bag, mix them up. Grab a handful and place them in a small stacks of 10. *this is a time saver too*5. Create a design a a piece of paper for reference.6. Roll out a portion of the runner.7. Draw the design with a pen. 8. Place the silicon sheet underneath.
*play around before you glue if you want to see what directions work best*
9. Glue the lower half of the flower onto the runner. No need to glue the whole thing. i personally think it looks better.
There you go!!! 🙂 It took me 5 months to finish 50 feet of mine. I only worked on it over the weekends and got distracted with other tasks. Soo i would start no later then 7 months of the wedding and have some help!!!!!
