I LOVE the way the whole petal runner looks, but I couldn’t fit that into my DIY timeline, so my mom & I are making one with petals down each side.  It is turning out BEAUTIFUL!!  I bought 2 10 yd bolts of yellow organza (total cost $13) & serged the edges together to make it 2 layers thick & 30 feet long by 5 feet wide. 1 layer actually looked really good too, but I wanted it less sheer.  We are putting 12″ wide strip of petals down each side & it is looking pretty amazing!!  It will take about 5000 petals or so rather than the 10,000 for a full coverage runner.

I have seen Bees glue the petals down 2 different ways: 1) laying the petals flat (covers more space) or 2) gluing the bottom edge of the petal to the runner so they stand more upright (covers less area per petal, but in my oppinion looks WAAAAY better & gives the runner more texture)

Also, just my opinion, but I would stick to one of your colors (or variations of that color) for the petals or the ones that are closest tone-wise (like your black & turquoise)….it seems when these runners are too multi-color, they do not seem as impressive.

Hope that helps!!  Good Luck.  Smile
