This is my aisle decor….there are 20 mini shepherd’s hooks and every other one will have a flower cone and a candle lantern thing. 🙂 I got the lanterns at IKEA for 3.99 each and the cones will be about 2-3 dollars each, depending if I buy real roses to stick inside. Let me know what you think!!

I really like this, especially the idea of alternating lanterns and flowers. I’m planning on using the same lanterns on shepherds’ hooks around pathways at my reception but haven’t decided if I want to dress them up.

Did you make the cones? I think they look great with flowers that they have in them, and I especially like the ribbon. If you made these, can you give directions?

@MistyLuv79…I couldn’t decide if I wanted to add something to the lanterns, so I just took a stem off of the flowers I was using in the cones and wrapped it around the lantern to tie it together. 🙂
@stitch1122…Yes I did make the cones…I have only made acouple of trial ones so far, though. I can’t decide if I want to use the silver paper or not. If I can remember, I used a 12×12 sheet of cardstock and trimmed 2 inches off of one side. That is the bottom of the cone that makes the skinny tip. I used decorative scissors to cut along two sides (the top) wrapped it in a tight circle and hot glued. This does take some practice; I was getting really frustrated at first!
Then you just punch two circles at the back of the cone and three in front (one in center and two about an inch or two away on both sides). Thread the ribbon at the back first with the loop to hang the cone on the inside Thread the ends to the outside of the cone, wrap around sides and poke through front holes to the inside of the cone. Then take both ends and thread through center hole and tie a bow. Voila!!!
If this doesn’t make sense, let me know and I will try to post pictures soon.
THe ribbon is from Hobby Lobby, I think it was only $1 a roll!!
