I did massive search on DIY Flower Girl Baskets, the results were not convincing.
I did brainstorming and finally came up with something the meets my expectations. Since it was soooooo hard to find anything online, I thought I would share this with you and hopefully this DIY helps you. I went to Michaels and saw typical flower girl baskets, I liked them but since I am having 8 flower girls, I thought 8 baskets at about about $12, hmmmm I can save $ by DIY. So I ended going to Michaels around February and found some nice looking easter baskets. I bought them at $1.25.
What you will need: Sturdy scissors and a glue gun.
I then went back home and cut off some the color wood of the baskets leaving some gaps, once you cut the color wood the basket becomes a little loose thats when you have to glue them so they dont come apart. I have painted them white. I will post pictures of how the end up. So far I love them.
Hello again, so I finished the flower girls baskets. As you can see I painted them white, and then ran purple ribbon in and out of the gaps, I also wrapped ribbon around the handle and the final touch I added a ribbon. I really enjoyed doing the baskets, it’s always a nice feeling knowing you’ve accomplished a DIY and that the results were exactly or more of what you expected.
